Style Crush Sunday – Candace Faythe

Style Crush

Happy Sunday! It is our honor and pleasure to share this week’s Style Crush, Candace of @CandaceFaythe/CandaceFaythe.com!

Candace sits in an ice cream museum atop a creamsicle seat, wearing an orange jumpsuit, peach mules, and a metallic pink tote. Her hair is in a bun atop her head and she’s smiling, wearing bright blue earrings.

Candace is an eclectic stylist who draws personal influence from 70s mega queens Diana Ross, Cher, and Donna Summer. She scores her favorite colorful and feminine pieces through secondhand and vintage shops, as well as Poshmark and ThredUp – and mentions Rent the Runway as an option for events or special occasions with a growing plus section!

Candace stands in front of an outside wall reading “POLISH DELICATESSEN.” She’s wearing a blue floral dress, a denim jacket, and red strappy heels. She’s facing away from the camera with her full curls blowing in the wind.

When asked about challenges Candace faces in fashion, she shares, “I think plus fashion is still so behind in so many ways! I would love to have more vintage inspired cuts in higher quality fabrics available to me. I also have a hard time finding sustainable fashion and ethically made fashion that fits into my aesthetic.”

Candace stands in front of an orange wall wearing a dress with a large floral pattern. She wears black Vans sneakers and a pink crossbody bag, holding her hands together and looking peaceful.

A trend she’s witnessed with brands extending their sizes if they often cherry pick, or offer a limited selection for plus sizes. Or, altering the pieces for plus sizes and changing the general design and aesthetic.

Candace stands facing the camera with a pink and coral printed wall behind her and dark flooring. She’s wearing a white shirtdress, thigh-high snake skin boots, hoop earrings, glasses, and carrying a black clutch.

Candace mentions Universal Standard as a brand model worth supporting, with their size offering of 00-40 in all production pieces. “I hope that more brands continue to move forward with offering their full assortment in a full size range.” We hear that, Candace!

Candace stands outside with Salvation Mountain behind her. She’s wearing a sheer blush dress, blush strappy sandals, and a leopard coat over her shoulder. She wears mirrored sunglasses and is tilting her head back looking regal.

For folks looking to branch out with their style, she recommends starting with shopping your own closet! “Take a look at what you have – you can always refresh for no money by simply reworking or restyling some of your fave pieces in ways that you haven’t previously.”

Candace is walking by an exterior wall with plants growing on it. She’s wearing ripped jeans. black strappy flats, and a long red button-down top with the bottom buttons undone and flowing over the jeans. She is wearing glasses and smiling.

“Research is so awesome, too. Make note of your style icons and pull ideas from there.”

Candace stands outside by some cactus plants, wearing a leopard midi skirt, a black Gucci belt, white Converse sneakers, and a white tee. She has glasses on, a dark tote, and the cutest pup with wearing a cone.

“Lastly, embrace a new color! It’s easy to infuse bits of bright color in your wardrobe.”

Candace is in front of a brightly painted wall mural, wearing a pink patterned dress, brown sandals, and swinging a heart-shaped purse. She’s smiling and wears her hair up with drop earrings and sunglasses.
