Happy Sunday! It is our honor and pleasure to share this week’s Style Crush, Candace of @CandaceFaythe/CandaceFaythe.com!

Candace is an eclectic stylist who draws personal influence
from 70s mega queens Diana Ross, Cher, and Donna Summer. She scores her favorite colorful and feminine pieces through secondhand and vintage shops, as well as Poshmark and ThredUp – and mentions Rent the Runway as an option for events or special occasions
with a growing plus section!

When asked about challenges Candace faces in fashion, she shares,
“I think plus fashion is still so behind in so many ways! I would love to have more vintage inspired cuts in higher quality fabrics available to me. I also have a hard time finding sustainable fashion and ethically made fashion that fits into my aesthetic.”

A trend she’s witnessed with brands extending their sizes if
they often cherry pick, or offer a limited selection for plus sizes. Or, altering the pieces for plus sizes and changing the general design and aesthetic.

Candace mentions Universal Standard as a brand model worth supporting,
with their size offering of 00-40 in all production pieces. “I hope that more brands continue to move forward with offering their full assortment in a full size range.” We hear that, Candace!

For folks looking to branch out with their style, she recommends starting with shopping your own closet! “Take a look at what you have – you can always refresh for no money by simply reworking or restyling some of your fave pieces in ways that you haven’t previously.”

“Research is so awesome, too. Make note of your style icons and pull ideas from there.”

“Lastly, embrace a new color! It’s easy to infuse bits of bright
color in your wardrobe.”
